Starting a business is an interesting adventure. I guess I should have known that at some point in my life I would have to go this route. When I was a kid my mom owned a shirt shop and my dad had a photography studio. Later on, my dad tried his hand at a few more businesses; a contracting business and then, way before it's time, a tanning salon. So here I am trying to figure out how to keep baking cupcakes and not lose my shirt over it. My husband has been very patient and encouraging (and one of my main taste testers) but even he has said it's time for me to slow it down or start bringing home the bacon.....(by the way, my Chocolate Bakon Vodka cupcake with Caramel buttercream, bacon and caramel drizzle has become a fan favorite).
So in the olden days, if you wanted to start a business you needed an idea, a space, inventory and a catchy radio add. Now just about anyone can get started by getting a website (free even) - voila, a business is born. All I have to do is wait for someone, who happens to be looking for cuptails, to type in the correct words into a search engine and they could then find themselves perusing my site. So exciting! Of course, I am going back to basics by giving cuptails out to friends and family and having them help spread the word.......and of course there's this here blogging thing.....so now what? I guess I will keep checking my email, bake for friends, try out a few new recipes and check my email, bake for my son's school, try to perfect an old recipe,..........check my email.....
By the way, here is the website:
